   “You can only take the step you’re taking.”

This simple line is the lyrical hook of the first track off Chris Assaad’s debut album, Glory Fire, and the mantra by which the singer-songwriter lives his life.  With the spirit of living in the moment, staying true to oneself, and pursuing a lifelong dream, Chris has arrived with a burst of life, leaving dust clouds in his tracks.

After spending six years exploring his craft in the band I.An.Eye - a creative partnership formed with his cousin - Chris made the decision to forge ahead as a solo artist. The result is Glory Fire, an aural pictorial of Chris’ inspiring story that is full of musical surprises, full of life, and full of soul.  Co-produced by Chris along with Justin Koop, the album has been described as "a very solid first offering from a man who may one day become King of Café Folk everywhere" (Aaron Bindstar - Fazer Online Music Magazine). 

Glory Fire is a true testament to the diversity of Chris’ inspirations, drawing on a wealth of influences from folk to rock to soul; from Ben Harper to the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Otis Redding. As a whole, the album is a cohesive work, unified by the voice and sounds of an artist coming into his own. 

Since the release of the album, Chris has been working hard and actively touring to get the music to the masses. So far, the Glory Fire Tour has made it across the ocean to Australia, and across the country to BC and Alberta, in addition to numerous dates in Ontario.
