FAMILIA
Familia's music is described as deep-pop/ indie soul. Conceived in 2004 in Maple Ridge, B.C. after meeting in their high-school Jazz ensemble they began what would become a 6 year musical journey.
In 2006, they recorded a 3 song demo at Brian Adam’s Warehouse Studio. This resulted in Vancouver radio airplay. The band traveled to Thailand in 2007 and volunteered by teaching music in HIV/AIDS orphanages. In late 2008 Familia partnered with producer Jonathan Anderson at Buena Vista Audio to record their full-length, debut album: “Golden Lies”. (released June 2009). The album is receiving praise from fans and industry folk alike. In 2009 they were chosen as top 20 bands in BC by Music BC and 100.5 the Peak (Vancouver World Class Rock station) to compete in the Peak Performance Project to win up to $150,000 for career development. Watch for Familia as they plan to stop in your Canadian city to share with you their indie-soul music.
