MAGGIE MEYER

Singer-songwriter and creator of unique, soulful sounds, Maggie Meyer released her 2nd CD entitled “On The Side” in 2008, produced by Dave Panting. The recording is a follow up to her 2007 self-titled 7-track debut produced by friend and fellow musician Len O’Neill. In 2006 she opened for acclaimed Canadian musician and songwriter Sarah Slean at the Holy Heart Theatre in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Playing with the likes of Lindsay Ferguson (Wakefield), Megan Hamilton (Kingston), and Andrea Karp Simms (Ottawa), she's no stranger to the Black Sheep stage, a trendy canadian hotspot in Wakefield, Quebec. A regular at various music festivals including the annual Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival, Atlantic Fest, Rock Can Roll, and others. Showcases include the 2009 ECMAs, various Music NL Conferences, The JUNOs 2010. She’s bled her soul performing songs in sponsored Songwriter Circles, the latest hosted by CBC featuring Tim Baker (Hey Rosetta), Sherman Downey, and Jody Richardson (The Pathological Lovers, Fur Packed Action). Her performances take the shape of evening solo gigs, group performance initiatives and festivals, and songwriter circle participation. She continues to play on the downtown St. John’s bar circuit. She's occasionally joined by experienced local musicians including Elliot Dicks (Novaks), Brad Power (Kujo), and Craig Follett (Kujo, Chris Kirby and the Marquee). You might have heard Maggie on CBC radio or CHMR. You might have seen her on local TV programs. In October she had the pleasure of journeying to Japan where she toured as the opening act with local St. John's band The Discounts.
