Metropolis Votary

Though “Love is a Dog” is his first full length solo effort, Metropolis Votary has a large catalogue of production behind him. In 2008 he released a group effort with Montreal rapper, Markit entitled Legato Block- All a Lounge town. This album exclusively features Votary beats, as well as his lyrical premier. Widely accepted in the underground hip hop scene, this album found a surprisingly enthusiastic fan base in Europe, and continues to grow in popularity. In 2009, Expedyte- Life was released, once again featuring Metropolis Votary’s exclusive production throughout the acclaimed album. This album showcased the diversity of his production, featuring some of hip hops finest lyricists from all over North America, including Killah Priest (wu tang), members of Cannibal OX, the Weathermen and more. This album was awarded a Much Music Video Fact Grant, as well as nominated for Music Nova Scotia’s Hip hop recording of the year. After the release of LIFE, Metropolis moved to the Caribbean for the writing/recording of his latest effort, Love Is a Dog.
