MIKAART

My paintings are usually small in scale.  This is because I love the intimate feeling of small objects.  This inherent desire for smallness may originate from my upbringing in Japan, where the culture tends towards an enthusiasm for fine and delicate things.  Small objects invite people to come close and appreciate the details.  There is a desire to touch them, pick them up, and keep them physically close to cherish.  I hope that owners will develop a special bond with my paintings, and grow to treasure them.
