THE AUTUMN PORTRAIT
There's something new coming out of Vancouver. Something that hasn't been done before. And it's about time. It's a combination of catchy song writing, toe tapping hooks, and melodies that don't leave your head. Introducing: The Autumn Portrait. What once started as a solo project with creative mind Freddie Mojallal on vocals and guitar has expanded to a solid 3-piece indie rock group including Dyllon Mitchell on bass and Sean Lavoy on drums with an unforgettable live show that has left crowds speechless & highly impressed.
In late 2009, The Autumn Portrait released its first EP, “The Light,” performing around Vancouver as both a solo act and with a band while gaining an increasingly strong fan base. Highlights include CiTR, CJSF & CBC3 radio and being featured during the 2010 Olympics with Chapters Indigo.
Giving back and making music to bring people closer together is important to The Autumn Portrait. Showcased at WAR CHILD CANADA, “Busking for Change” in Dec ’09 to raise money for war affected children; and Jan ’10 & April ‘10 (hosted by 100.5FM The Peak) raised funds & performed at benefit concerts for Red Cross & Haiti earthquake relief efforts.
“We want to break down the wall between musicians and the fans. It is OUR music to enjoy together. If we share what’s in our hearts, the rest is easy” Freddie says about the band's music.
The Autumn Portrait is currently recording a full-length album with Tom Dobrzanski (Said the Whale, We Are The City, The Zolas) which is soon to be released. With a Western Canada Tour under their belt, The Autumn Portrait are returning to BC & AB in October for their Fall 2010 tour.
